DIY Serving Tray

`When shopping for home decor, it’s great to find deals on things but sometimes things can be a little pricey. One of those things I came across recently was a serving tray.

How cute is this serving tray? I love the rustic vibe. The options are endless on what you can use it for. This would be great for serving appetizers at a party, an antipasto spread or even desserts! I love it for a coffee/tea station on our counter.

This serving tray idea cost a total of $20! You also don’t need very much to make this tray. Here’s what you’ll need:

First thing I want to mention is that most handles come with the screws already. However, the screws that came with my handles were two long and I had to substitute for shorter ones. You want to measure and mark with a pencil where you need to drill. Take the 3/16 drill bit and put four tiny pilot holes where your screw will go. Do not drill a hole all the way through. You are just ensuring that the board won’t crack when you insert the screws.

Now that the hardest part is over, let’s finish this up. Line up your handles with the pilot holes you’ve just made. You can use the drill to put the screws in or you can use a screw driver either one will work just fine. When you’re done you should have something that looks like this:

Here’s the fun part. Time to get creative with what you’ve just created. Take a look at the Coffee/Tea station that I set up:

Thank God for handy husbands who put up with your crazy ideas! Let me know in the comments how you would style your serving tray. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post to find out how I make this yummy banana bread! Don’t forget to like and follow for more creative ideas!
