DIY Desk/Vanity

I always wanted a space to do my makeup and also a place to get work done. Finding a vanity that I liked was too expensive for the space that I wanted. I decided I would need to get creative and make something of my own.

I love everything about this desk/vanity table. I am able to have an area to get my makeup done and have a spot to do work when I need to, without having to sacrifice space and beauty.

So first I purchased the VITTSJÖ laptop table in white. I am obsessed with all things rose gold. So I spray painted all the metal parts of the desk frame in rose gold. I used the Krylon brand and picked it up from Wal-Mart.

Next I purchased the ALEX storage unit, also in white just to offset all the other dark furniture in my room. I also got drawer dividers to organize my makeup. I cannot remember the name but they are also from Ikea.

The table comes with a glass top but I didn’t like the look of just glass. So I purchased marble contact paper to cover the glass and the top of the storage unit. One roll was enough to do both and still have a little bit left over. The good thing is it has a guidance underneath to help with measurements.

The chair was something we had and I cannot remember where we got it from but any chair will do that works for you. I used the same spray paint from my desk to spray the legs of the chair. The fur on the chair is a rug that I purchased at Homesense a few years ago.
