This is crispy shrimp recipe is super quick and easy to make. You still have time to put this together for your superbowl party tonight! This finished so quickly at our home, we almost didn’t have enough.
Here’s what you’ll need:
First you want to season your shrimp with the 1/2tsp of salt and 1/2tsp of black pepper. I used one full bag of medium sized shrimp. Mix it together until it’s well incorporated. Add your buttermilk to your shrimp and let it sit while you prep your dry mix. Just for personal preference only, I soaked my shrimp in the morning until I was ready to use it in the evening.
At this point you want to get your oil heated in your frying pan. While your oil is heating, in a separate bowl, add the remainder of your dry ingredients (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and flour). Mix all your dry ingredients together until it’s all combined.
Place your shrimp in the flour mix and coat evenly all around. Get a bowl lined with paper towel to soak up any excess oil from the shrimp. Carefully add your shrimp to the oil and cook until the shrimp turns pink in colour. The cook time does not take more than 4 minutes.
